Cayla Colwell
Youth Trafficking Care Coordinator
Cayla graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelors in Human Development and Family Services with a minor in Psychology. She moved to Louisiana from Oregon and has begun to enjoy the new customs of the south and delighting in trying the Cajun cuisine. She previously worked for a non-profit for the last three years that provided advocacy and mentorship to the most at-risk youth in Portland, OR. She was drawn to Hope House by the mission of bringing kids to justice and hope that eventually leads them to freedom.
"I enjoy working at Hope House because everyone is intentional with every child that walks through our doors and provides them with the space to use their voice for justice. It's a beautiful sight to see children grow and use their own strength to heal through the trauma they didn't deserve. At Hope House, they get to change their story, and we just get to walk alongside them with support and adoration," Cayla said.
Cayla also loves spending time exploring and traveling with her husband and their two doggies. She enjoys game nights, playing pickleball and beach volleyball on the weekends. You can also find her in the kitchen baking all sorts of breads and goodies.
