Question & Answer Session with Timothy Wall of Pelican Energy Consultants
Pelican Energy Consultants is a privately held Consulting Engineering firm located in Covington, Louisiana. The company consists of a highly experienced group of individuals with diverse backgrounds in Carbon Capture, Utilization and Sequestration (CCUS) facilities design, gas processing and storage, gas and liquid transportation systems, liquid storage terminals, oil and gas processing, refining and chemical processing. It’s easy to say that Pelican Energy Consultants is making a positive impact in the energy sector, but they are also making a difference by empowering healing for child survivors of abuse. They have even taken their commitment to the next level by hosting a 5k and fun run to support Hope House! We sat down with Timothy Wall to discuss more on what supporting Hope House means to his company.
Q: What is Pelican Energy doing to support Hope House?
A: “We are proud to announce our first annual “Pelican Energy Run for Hope” benefiting the Hope House! This event will have a 5K and a 1-mile Fun Run for kids. Every 5K participant will receive a finisher’s medal, Race Day T-shirt, and refreshments. 100% of all registrations, donations, and sponsorships go directly to the Hope House! The event will be held on October 5th, 2024, along the beautiful trails at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville."
Q: What motivated you to get involved with Hope House?
A: “Pelican Energy has donated to and participated in events for the Hope House ever since we heard of this amazing organization. We are locally owned and hold deep ties to our community. Giving back is a core principle to our organization, and the Hope House embodies everything Pelican Energy looks for in a charity partner."
Q: What is the most striking or impactful thing you’ve noticed about Hope House since starting your relationship with this organization?
A: "Our first visit to the Hope House is one I will never forget. The warmness and welcoming of the building made an immediate impression. Everything about the Hope House, from the building layout and décor to the care and kindness of the staff, works to make a child feel safe. The most striking aspect for me was the recovery program. Often after facing trauma, children lose their joy and positive outlook on the world. They are forced to deal with adult situations, feelings, and stresses. The Hope House recovery program works to help a child return to living a child’s life and I think that is the most beautiful part of what they do."
Q: How does it feel to know that you’ve empowered countless children, through your giving, with healing and recovery following trauma?
A: “The children that are helped by the Hope House experience trauma that no child should ever know. Pelican Energy is blessed to be able to assist the Hope House in providing these children with the justice and recovery they so badly deserve. It is truly an honor and a privilege to work alongside such a noble organization."
Q: What action do you hope readers will take to join you in support of this cause?
A: “I’d love to see the readers join us on October 5th at the 5k event. They can find more information and register at www.RunSignUp.com/PelicanEnergyRunForHope. There is also a page on the site for direct donations to the Hope House. For anyone interested in becoming a sponsor of the event, we have put together packages to suit all budgets. Please reach out to Timothy.Wall@PelicanEnergy.com for more information about sponsorship opportunities."
